Trashstock.- Musik. Artistik. Plastik

Lack of efficient waste management policies, increase  in tourism and out of control constructions are only a few reasons why the Island of the Gods might very soon to be nicknamed the public dump island.  By riddle effect, Bali has also become a natural laboratory to some of the most interesting initiatives conducted by individuals and NGO around the world.

This is why we are proud to support the Trashstock project by Act Global, a charity event promoted through art, music and workshop. The event itself will be supported by a pre-event to take place at Warehouse 82 ,this week-end on Saturday, may the 9th.  The doors open at 5 pm.

The pre-event aims to raise money for the main event. The main event will take place on the 20th and 21st of june.

Unlike many other great initiatives, this one is not the product of one NGO, but of a collective effort, in order to:

-       Raise awareness about the plastic issue in Bali.

-       Engage the local community to tackle the plastic pollution problem.

-       Inspire Indonesian citizens to develop creative entrepreneurship.

-       Gather a community of artists, NGO’s and businessmen who want to make a difference in the fight for the environment.

-       Create a movement of Trashstock warriors powered by artists.

-       Help a committed foundation (all benefits will go to Manik Bumi in their efforts to educate Indonesian people about trash management.

The event is especially targeted at young adults, between 18 and 30 years old. This specific strategy makes perfect sense:

-       They are a bridge between their younger siblings and the older generation.

-       They are the biggest consumers of small items sold in individual plastic bags.

-       They are fully responsible indivuduals who can take action now.

For more information, please tune in on Friday the 8th at 19h10 for an exclusive interview with some of the people who worked very hard to make this event successful. We are looking forward to see you there. Spread the word and bring your friends!
