An Amazing Evening with Pygmy Marmoset: Mini Concert and Launching of Their New Music Video & Singles
For the past several years, Bali’s music scene has been made more colorful by the rising bands and musicians of various genres, who have put their heart in their work and passionately share their music through the stages and all mediums provided around them.
This beautiful progress is recognized by many people who have been involved in the island’s music scene for a long time. It is heart-warming to witness these artists and others supporting and encouraging one another to keep on making these steps forward, and - as cliché as it might sound- shine brighter.
Last night (01/11/2024) was one of those moments that showed how Bali has indeed been honored to the birth of promising talents, that we root for to grow really big! Pygmy Marmoset, a soulful talented duo based in Bali, held their first very own mini-concert ever, which was also a gathering called to hold the launching of their brand new video clip for their single Cerita Tentang Pohon, a single from their debut album, Kabar Dari Hutan. And the good news doesn’t end there, as they also launched two new wonderful singles entitled Kuko the Bird and Cerita Senja.
Cerita Tentang Pohon translates into ‘The Story about the Tree’, and it tells so much more than about the tree and what it stands for on the literal level. In Zenith’s poetic words and figurative speech, she tells about the environmental issues, the issues related to humanity, and more.
The music video is completely in tune with the feel and message of the song’s story and message. Lots of green, eye-pampering effects, beautiful concept, and in short, it’s an eye-candy to match the level of effect that the song has on our ears.
The event was held at Mini Hall Griya Musik Irama Indah in Denpasa. Even though the hall was not at all that ‘mini’, this reservation-based mini-concert received such an enthusiastic response from the fans that the place ended up super packed, while still leaving some not able to be accommodated due to the space limitation. Of course this sweet duo humbly stated that they didn’t think that the turnout would be that big.
Like always, Zenith and Sanjay managed to fill the venue with their chill, happy and soothing energy. It is safe to bet that most of the audience ended up kind of hypnotized to tap into their ‘happy thoughts’ as well as sensitivity and consciousness to connect to the real issues that this duo also honestly address in a number of their songs.
It was overall one of those delightful intimate mini-concerts where most people would go home with a feel of a personal impression. And since we are talking about the duo who sings about the pure hearted animals, the story-telling trees, the beautiful blue sky, and the gorgeous moon and kites from the perspective of a sweet human, told in lovely folky tunes, it’s safe to say that everyone went home with a warm heart! Great job, Pygmy Marmoset! Congratulations!
