The Four-Piece Emo Rock Gentlemen Called Alison Rock!
Still mingling in the indie music scene of Bali and still totally enjoying the process of exploring the talents presented in the island's bands! This week, we've decided to stay local and we're excited for you to catch up OR discover (depending on whether you've heard of these guys yet) Alison Rock!
Alison Rock is a four-piece Emo Rock band which consists of Sabda on vocals, Dedy on guitar, Aya on bass and Adit on drums. The band was born less than 3 years ago right here in the middle of Denpasar's busy indie scene and has stayed around ever since! Aside from it being an Emo Rock band, the sound of this band has a hint of an influence that comes from the Japanese Rock style too.
The name Alison in the band basically means ray of sun. They chose the particular meaning because a ray of light has the ability to shine through a hole in walls, no matter how small the hole is. And with the philosophy which they carry in the band's name, their dream is to shine their own kind of light through their music, and take on all opportunities their journey might bring them to. Sweet!!!
In other words, what they're hoping for is really for the band to spread the music more widely than they currently already have managed to do. While they have reached the Emo Rock lovers in Bali, they expect to be able to expand to the other parts of Indonesia, hopefully soon!
After having been together in the band for three years, Alison Rock has released one single entitled "Hurt Begin". Through the years, the band has succeeded to be part of the line-up in a number of pretty big music events and festivals in Bali and East Java such as Isshoni Tanoshi at Brawijaya University (Malang), Nusa Penida Festival, The 2nd Anniversary of One Ok Rock Bali, PICA Fest Bali, Bali Japan Night at Boshe VVIP Club, DJAFU at Udayana University, Seisshun Mastuti at STPBI Denpasar, and many more!
So if you're into Emo Rock, Japanese Rock sounds or simply enjoy all kinds of music and aim to be more aware about the rather new Bali indie bands, tune in to our radio for two of the band's newest singles which are broadcast every day for two weeks (May 2 - May 15, 2024) at 7 AM, 12 PM, 7 PM, 12 AM Bali Time!
