The modern-day kind of magic can be defined as those amazing things that only happen to certain ones who dream big, work hard, truly believe in their goal, and on top of that all; those whose minds are creative enough to be inspired to have that one big dream to begin with. A dream just surreal enough to be certain that it is actually big enough to you know, make it big!

Meet Wolfram Klug! A German musician, living in Switzerland, currently on holiday in charming Ubud, who has actually really gone for his life-long dream to record his album with his idols; the former band members of Frank Zappa’s band! And no, we are not just talking about one or two of the guys (which actually would be impressive already), we are talking about Ike Willis, Tommy Mars, Ed Mann, Robert Martin, Arthur Barrow and Albert Wing! Hell yeah!!!

Wolfram was working on his concept album “Burt, the Nerd” when he decided that he wanted these guys to the ones to collaborate with; as he successfully pulled off later on in 2012. “Burt, the Nerd” is a colorful concept album which combines Jazz, Rock and Groove together in one experimental music arrangement. The lyrics in this album are witty and interesting! The critical thinking poured into the themes of the songs which are actually related to one another, would definitely be ear-candy for those who enjoy some honest irony about the estranged behavior some humans choose to live with at times.

The album contains of all brand new tracks which includes a cover version of Frank Zappa’s Chunga’s Revenge. The album was recorded in Los Angeles, not long after his initial contact which managed to bring these incredible musicians to a reunion after not having played music together for around two decades.

As Wolfram told his story, we could not help but feel really excited about it on many levels! His answers were pretty simple but there was nothing simple about the information and stories it contained. There were parts of the stories revolving around the birth of “Burt, the Nerd” that just sounded totally absurd and intense, both in a good way. They were both exciting on the level that it simply is a huge deal, as well as on that level where Wolfram’s experience is basically very inspiring!
