Timeless Indonesia Festival 2014
Once known and separated as various kingdoms stretched along the Indonesian archipelago, today’s Republic of Indonesia has indeed been blessed with a rich and colorful platter of distinct traditions and cultures from all provinces, islands, up to the tiniest isle in the most remote areas. The national slogan “Unity in Diversity” was chosen for a reason.
While Bali has been known for its charming and unique culture and traditions and therefore became one of the world’s most famous tourism destinations, other parts of Indonesia are waiting to be discovered as well. And as one of the efforts to introduce their heritage in arts, crafts and culinary, some of these provinces are bringing the best of what they’d love to share and introduce closer to you, through the Timeless Indonesia Festival 2014 which will be held from November 9 – 15, 2014 at K-Land Beach, Tuban, Badung Regency, right here on the island!
The festival will showcase rarely exposed traditional music and dances, the tastiest traditional culinary delights, fashions highlighting exquisite fabrics and textiles from Indonesia’s top designers and an array of arts and crafts carefully selected for their unique attributes, and more. In this inaugural edition, the festival will highlight the cultural wonders from 7 provinces, which are: East Kalimantan, West Nusa Tenggara, North Sumatra, North Sulawesi, East Java, South Sulawesi, and Bali.
The event will also feature some of the country’s most prominent musicians, top designers, choreographers, and other well-respected artists.
