There are many valid theories stated by well-respected scholars that emphasize on the idea that there is no such thing as a wrong interpretation towards of a work of art. Whether it is a poem, prose, play, novel, painting or a song; whatever the artist’s initial intended message is, every person on the other end of the artist-audience relationship is entitled of the full freedom in interpreting the message of the work, as well as the personal experience the very own specific feeling the work of art might have sparked up for themselves, at any level, really.

As many of us feel in our daily life, the perfect playlist at the perfect time does count as one of the everyday’s little things to be grateful for. Same appreciation goes to the tracks which somehow magically connects to us, speaks to us, and inspire us to do the most amazing things. And no less credit goes to the theme songs that always manage to set each of your hundreds moods right for occasions.

Well, what we have here, now, is a story about The Road; a track by Bali’s well-respected folk band, Dialog Dini Hari, which has awesomely performed its role in inspiring four young men to hit the road and explore the exotic beauty on the islands stretched on the east side of Bali.

The Road is the last track of the band’s most recent album which was released last year, Tentang Rumahku, which translates into Our Home. With that track determined as the theme song of the trip, Geri Centura, Holman Siregar, Boyd Haryo and Davin John Schaap jumped on their motorbikes, crossing 3 islands, 2,500 kilometers  of land, sea and mountains, for the sake of making a great story.

Each riding their very own favorite motorbike, these four have scheduled a 19-day trip hopping islands from Bali to Lombok, Lombok to Sumbawa, and from Sumbawa in West Nusa Tenggara all the way to exotic Flores in East Nusa Tenggara. The plan is to record video footage of all the charm and beauty passed along the way as well as all the stories; both good and bad, which might add more colors to this almost certainly to be amazing road trip.

This trip named Moonshine En Route Motorcycle Riding can be followed through the short videos which are uploaded weekly (starting from March 30, 2024) to Dialog Dini Hari’s official Instagram account @dialogdinihari and Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/dialogdinihariband.

The four road explorers will bring back a video clip called “The Road” as a souvenir to be shared. The video will be launched at Straw Hut Seminyak, Bali on Wednesday, April 22,2015.

Their work will potentially bring up more inspiration for their audience as roles change up in the artist-audience department here.
