Tom & the Limits: To Gili and Beyond
“This is not Reggae”.
The title of their E.P. is deeply connected to their geographical origin, Gili Trawangan. As they describe their music as inspired by the small island, they prove that it does not have to mean they are the obligatory reggae band reigning over the beach.
Tom & the Limits sound has definitely a tropical feel. But they explore some more blues/folk terrain than their dreadlocked counter parts, almost as if they wanted to add a taste of melancholy, like a deep look on a still horizon, reaching for some far away costlines. Which they finally reached: They are now mostly active in Jakarta and Bali. There is something strong, raw coming from these melodies, beyond what you would expect from some easy going beach musicians.
The band consists of Tom Kundera ( Voc/Guitar), Sandi 'sandow' Mussadad (Lead Guitar), Wawan 'waves (Bassist). Let’s keep an eye on them!
Tune in for their tracks on the radio for two full weeks starting from August 24– September 7, 2015, at 7 am, 12 pm, 7 pm and 12 am Bali Time, daily!
