Guys, this week's artist of the week is someone who happens to have such a long list of impressive stories shared in the most casual way possible! Meet Dea! A records producer and musician who is devoted to Electro Disco who is also one of the founders of Frisbee Records!
This humble guy was born in Jakarta, Indonesia, and just as all teenage boys blessed with musical talent, Dea also had his time playing in bands which just like how it normally goes did not end up being it, considering how much people grow after high school. Well in Dea's case finishing high school in Jakarta got him started on another chapter of his life, following his passion for music, which sort of literally brought him to a journey.
A new story began in 2003 when he started studying Sound Arts and Design at the University of the Arts, London, which was where he got more and more in touch with his creativity as Sound Engineer as well as his side as a producer. He'd say that this is the year where he really started his true musical journey.
Soon his creativity contributed a lot in shaping many innovative recordings of independent music around Europe, covering a wide range of genres including progressive rock, avant-garde, electronic music and disco. As a musician, Dea is credited on a series of EPs called Heavy Rotation.
Aside from flying back and forth to Europe to work on his musical projects with fellow musicians in the local indie scenes, Dea has also collaborated with known Indonesian musicians such as Maliq and the Essentials, White Shoes and The Couples Company and Edi, the bass player of Nyanyian Dharma.
