TrashStock: Artistic & Plastic

TrashStock: Artistic & Plastic

We are all getiing tired hearing about the trash issue in Bali that continues to increase despite the many beach cleaning activities, the campaign to raise awareness, public complaints, petition to ban plastic, and even the sporadic emerge of NGO that thrive to help create a cleaner Bali.

Seriously, we are so sick and tired of seeing trash everywhere, smeling it, stepping on it, driving by piles of it. We're done; at which point a permanent solution of waste management becomes necessary. However without government stepping in I dont see Bali being free from the foul scents and scenery anytime soon.

Enough complaining though. It is time to look into possible solutions.  What are we going to do with the abundance of plastic trash stock Bali currently possesses?

Well, here's an idea: Put value in it so people would much rather collect them in separate bins to then be exchanged with money. We know there are places where trash collectors sell the plastic, we just don't know where.

That's why Julien Goalabre decides to hold a music and exhibition festival to gather companies, NGO, artists, and people at large in an event called Trash Stock where they can learn and network for a purpose that is eliminating plastic trash, but instead making them a valuable stock. From repurpose through art, recycle, and selling them, all can be learned from this festival.

They're fully comitted to the idea of exchanging plastick trash by giving them value starting from encouraging people to pay for the enrance fee of the festival with recycleable plastics.

The event will be held at Taman Baca Kesiman on June 20-21, 2015 featuring The Mangrooves and exhibition by Made Bayak among many others.

Intersted in getting involved with the event? Find out how by listening to Exposed! "Trash Stock" Friday 6th of March at 5.10pm and Saturday 7th of March 12.10pm only at www.baliradio.net
