Bo Minx
The sounds and the synths of the 80s, the darkest funk, hardcore industrial, the earliest hip hop ñ all of these elements have been ground up, smashed and smelted into a deep electrofilth, a throbbing sexual behemoth of a debut album by new female producer, writer and performer Bo Minx and is aptly entitled "Neo-Noir".
Hailing from Munich, Bo Minx is heavily influenced by the culture of her youth, having developed a huge obsession with the idols and movies of the 80ís ñ Prince being a particular musical hero. In 2009 Bo began writing music and learned how to produce the exact sound she was adamant on pinning down to cement her unique take on life. When Central Controlís Barry Adamson (acclaimed audio artist, Magazine bassist and former Bad Seed) heard her demos she then set off to work on an album. Neo-Noir was delivered (written and produced by Bo herself) and mixed by the one and only Gareth Jones (Depeche Mode, Einstruzende\r\nNeubauten, Wire, Erasure, Interpol, Grizzly Bear, Goldfrapp).
Ranging from the out and out sexual pant of ëPainkillerí to the darkly flirtation ëDo I look Like Your Mommaí and the deep, hard pulse of the late club-groove in ëDaddy Electricí, Bo Minx spans a musical landscape that slips into your brain and body and sleeps there ñ forever.
She references her lyrical heroes ñ GG Allin, The Crampsí Lux Interior, Fad Gadgetís Frank Tovey, John Foxx and N.W.A. - and as she mixes that together with the instant drive of her music, the overall progression of strong women in the electronic genre takes a whole new twist.
