Still rockin' it in Bali's awesomely accommodating indie scene where there's always a new band to check out, and where there's always something actually worth checking out!

We simply can't emphasize enough on how much we have been enjoying this journey of writing pieces of stories shared by a long list of bands and musicians from Bali and pretty much all over the world, whom we crossed paths with. We have followed so many stories by now, that quite often we get the honor and chance to say that we met and interviewed a band when they just started up, before they grew big in different ways and on different levels!

This week on Artist of the Week, we are excited to present another band which has co-existed alongside its fellow rock bands in the indie scene of Denpasar for three years now! Black Revolver equals Grey (vocals), Soegiarsa (guitar), Gilang (bass) and Berlin (drums), and together they play their cool blend of rock, blues rock, and hard rock.

Black Revolver has a hint of a vintage touch in their sound, which is a specification that has become rather popular in the island's rock scene these days. Well, these guys did indeed mention that the main source of their music influence as well as inspiration happens to be a number of legendary rock bands circa 60s and 70s. These legends who are very likely partly the reason why these guys became musicians to begin with are among others Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, The Beatles, and AC-DC, to name a few.

So far, the band has released three singles, entitled Lady Bird, In Your Secret, and Drunken Trucker, which are available on their SoundCloud page. Aside from that, this band is known to cover lots of rock tunes from the legends of that period of time they seem to be pretty fascinated with.

We are very curious to know more of the stories of what they're up to these days, and what we should expect in the near future, or even their biggest hopes for Black Revolver for the long run! We'll make sure to have those ideas and thoughts revealed during the interview followed by an acoustic live session, which will be broadcast on our radio on Sunday, July 3, 2024 at 10 PM Bali Time, with a re-run on the same day and time in the following week! For in the meantime, the band's tracks will be broadcast on our radio every day for 2 weeks straight (July 27 - July 10, 2024) at 7 AM, 12 PM, 7 PM and 12 AM Bali Time!
