1. Doulce Mémoire & Maestro Musik Sunda
The Music from a Lost Land

7th May - 7 pm | Bentara Budaya, Jl. Profesor Ida Bagus Mantra No. 88A, Ketewel, Gianyar

Ensemble Doulce Mémoire has specialized in the interpretation of Renaissance music. In 2015, the ensemble toured Indonesia to showcase its wealth of western court music and meet up with Sundanese traditional musicians. Enthused by this exchange, Doulce Mémoire returns this year to collaborate with singer Neneng Dinar and musicians Yoyon Darsono and Dede Suparman. Together they will bring to us a voyage into the music of the Lost Kingdom, from the Sundanese court to the courts of France.

2. 'The Bird'/'L'Oiseau'

10th Mqy - 7 pm | Garuda Wisnu Kencana, Jl. Raya Uluwatu, Badung, Bali

Les Rémouleurs, the leading French contemporary puppet company, returns to Indonesia for an extraordinary performance based around a figure of the Bird, incorporating Indonesian artists. The Bird will soar into the evening sky, an enormous flying marionette spanning eight metres across, borne up on helium filled balloons controlled by French and Indonesian puppeteers. It will act as a screen onto which works created in residence by artists from both countries will be projected. The slow and fluid movements of the wings of the Bird are accompanied by the strange and moving music of the Senyawa group. A magical moment for all ages!

3. Jazz Concert Baptiste Trotignon & Minimo Garay

18th May - 8 pm | Rumah Sanur, Jl. Danau Poso No. 51A Sanur

On one side there is the inventive and virtuoso pianist Baptiste Trotignon (Frank Ténot prize at Victoire du jazz, Django Reinhardt Prize, Grand Prix in the Concours Martial Solal), and on the other is Argentinian percussionist Minino Garay, much in demand in world music circles, variety and jazz (Richard Bona, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Jacky Terrasson, Michel Portal, Toumani Diabaté, Mercedes Sosa). Trotignon and Garay offer a passionate reinterpretation of popular French songs by Gainsbourg, Brel, Nougaro, traditional Argentinian tunes, and even extracts from West Side Story, all without vocals. An interaction that is both enlightening and exciting.

4. The Future Architecture
Albums des jeunes architectes et paysagistes 2014 (AJAP)

18th - 20th May | Universitas Udayanam, Jl. Kampus Bukit Jimbaran, Kuta, Badung

21st - 24th May | Danes Art Veranda, Jl. Hayam Wuruk No.159, Denpasar, Bali

Created by the Ministry of Culture and Communication, the Albums des Jeunes Architectes et des Paysagistes (AJAP) is a prize awarded every two years to young international professionals in architecture, urban planning and landscape. The international tour of the exhibition brings to Indonesia the work of the winners of the last edition of the prize. The display exposes cutting edge developments in architecture and landscape, through innovative scenography. Alongside the exhibition there will be forums for the discussion of how architecture and urban planning can and should respond to the challenges of our societies.
