Tah Riq, stories of a Renaissance Man

Tah Riq, stories of a Renaissance Man

Time flies, people! It has been 3 and a half years that we started “Artist of the Week”.  The first band to enter our small studio was Paramitsha, Tah Riq and Lizzie o’ Keefe. To this day, it remains one of our best recording memories. This is why we are really excited to have Tah Riq back in the studio so he could introduce his new baby “ Guitar Stories vol.I, Taqsim”.

When Paramitsha brought together two very distinctive talents to form an harmonious entity exploring a common musical ground, “Guitar Stories vol.I, Taqsim” is a deeply personal and exclusively instrumental album, in which Tah Riq tells stories of his life through the sweet language of flamenco and classical guitar. Recorded at Antida studio (the best in Bali, no question about it), “Guitar Stories vol. I, Taqsim” is incredibly simple on its form (a man and his guitar) and highly complex in construction.

And it perfectly reflects Tah Riq’s personality: A multi-talented artist and entrepreneur with a simple goal in life: Live it to the fullest by taking everything he can and give back to others in an ascending spiral of kinetic energy.

In fact, Tah Riq could easily embody the definition of the Renaissance Man. Just like his 15th century Italian colleagues, Tah Riq sees the world as a playground of infinite possibilities.  Through music, parkour, poetry, writing, design where each part finds a place to build a spiritual and physical coherent whole.

His secret is simple, he would say: “Put your mind to it”. Oh, let’s not fool ourselves. Most of us will never reach such a level of talent in so many diverse fields as he does. But all of us can be inspired by him to become better persons in area we thought were “just not for us” with a little more enthusiasm and will to help ourselves achieving more than the sum of our parts.

He kindly took time to play live at the studio and spoke with us for an interview that should inspire us all. You can listen to his sound every day of the week at 7 am, 12 pm, 7 pm. The interview and the exclusive live session will be streamed on Sunday and Monday at 10 PM. We will also upload the video version of the interview and the live session later this week.
