ARTIST OF THE WEEK

Redeye

Redeye

Redeye, Guillaume Fresneau''s latest project, is our artist of the week. The man is a bit special to us: He is A French artist and an old high school friend. His atmospheric folk songs will take you on the road, influenced by Kerouac and Jeff Buckley and will take you wandering on the winding roads of his traveling experiences. We have connected through Skype and discussed his style, his life, his views on music and his experience as a modern troubadour.

All At Once.

All Of Redeyeís early years in Texas, remain an authentic accent, and a certain form of sun kissed melancholy. Of his American road trips remain sublime landscapes, traveled to the sound of timeless radio music.

Closer

These elements have rooted in him a folk sensitivity that seems to come from elsewhere, and have led him to bring to life 5 luminous tracks, full of stories which owe as much to desert sand as they do to the hot bricks of lost towns. For this EP, Redeye was joined by brilliant guests: Suzanne Thoma (voice) and Sonia Cordier (cello, from the band Suzanne The Man), FranÁois Sabin (accordeon), Antoine Pozzo di Borgo (doublebass from the band Jason Edwards), and Jason Glasser (cello, from the band Fruitkey). The album was also co-produced, mixed and recorded by Jean Charles Versari (Jason Edwards, Josh T. Pearson Ö).

Be The

After numerous concerts in various line-ups (from very rock bass-drums-guitar to more folk solo or duo sound), Guillaume Fresneau returns to pure songwriting, leaving behind the Lo-Fi approach of the first album. Polished audio recordings serve sophisticated folk songs, highlighting strong emotions and a special kind of sensitivity.

Be The One leads the way to a first album in the making, and a definite future: RedEye goes Hi-Fi.
