ISA RAJA: REMEMBERING ALL THE KISSES

ISA RAJA: REMEMBERING ALL THE KISSES

Another very exciting week here in our radio land! This week’s Artist of the Week is one well-respected name, which happens to come with some aliases! Super excited for you people to meet Isa Raja, previously also known as Inong Loebis as well as the one who worked the magic with Compromised Ego. All three names are associated to awesomeness in many ways on some serious level!

Isa Raja is best known as one of the memorable talented individuals of the first season of X Factor Indonesia. His unique performing style made it easy for him to make himself a special place among the audience. The songs that he chose to perform during this talent show never failed to ‘show off’ his strong characteristics. His easy going and rather quirky personal style in carrying himself sure did play a part in having fan bases built shortly, all across the country.

Aside from his dynamic performances and undeniable talent and style, Isa Raja has also left a certain impression as one who emphasizes on peace, a lot! His standard greeting during the national talent show was “Salam Damai” which translates into “Peace”. He had always been clear about his intention of using this particular phrase; it was his very own campaign to make his point that music can be a medium for people to share and spread peace, acceptance and tolerance in diversity.

Ever since his early years of childhood, Isa Raja has shown much interest in art. He started playing music when he was in elementary school and later on he started exploring the theater world as well. One of his biggest dreams is to make it to the stage of Broadway. And aside of all that, he also has his share of passion towards photography, and has been known for his respectable work under his alias Inong Loebis.

In 2000, he started a solo project and used Compromised Ego as his stage name back then. Tons of great and passionate work was shared during his years of flying solo, as well as through his collaborations with other wonderful and talented artists along his journey in his music career. And those series of stories has led him into the amazing chapter he is currently living in.

Two years has gone by since the talent show, and Isa Raja is back with a brand new single which he wrote himself, Remembering All the Kisses. This track has a nice blend of alternative rock sounds, with a hint of pop, wrapped up nice and lightly, resulting into a perfect ‘easy listening’ track. This song does make an awesome medium to let your mind drift off and travel back in time into the 90s for a bit; which is a big fat ‘why not?’!!!

Isa Raja does not believe in putting genres in boxes. He has a very wide range of music preferences and that openness to variety does play a role in the colors of influence brought in his style in creating and performing his music as well.

The chosen theme for this single is indeed one of the very basic classic human stories that everyone can relate to; a tale about the broken heart. The acoustic sound components and arrangement chosen for this song flow along with its theme. It even adds the right element of melancholy that creates the right feel to support the story passed through the lyrics of this song that was inspired by true stories, both lived by the artist himself and those stories he has heard from people around him along the way.

Tune in every day for the whole week at 7 AM, 12 PM and 7 PM Bali Time for the single, Remembering All the Kisses! And don’t forget to check out their page to get information about their gigs during their Bali tour! We’ll also keep you posted about the interview and live session as well! Enjoy, guys!
